HAZOP Awareness
(1 day)
Overview
The aim of this course is to provide participants with an awareness of the background to and need for the internationally recognised Hazards and Operability (HAZOP) Study designed technique.
Throughout each course, over 55 years of in-house knowledge is shared with the course participants from highly respected and experienced course presenters. Each presenter is frequently approved as HAZOP leaders for major developments as per some of our State legislators, for example, by the NSW Department of Planning.
The programme is facilitated using a mixture of presentations and class discussion (as the awareness course is over 1-day only there are no team based practical exercises or case studies for the course – for such contents the participants are kindly directed to the Basic and Leaders HAZOP Courses which are presented by us).
The course is structured from a practical industrial perspective. The experience and background of the presenters ensure that the course is directly relevant to all participants.
Our presenters maintain close association with industry, government and universities which ensures that our courses reflect the latest in HAZOP thinking. For example, recent additions include key issues as embodied within AS 61882 (the HAZOP Application Guide), current Orica HAZOP and Hazard Study techniques, HAZOP study requirements with respect to Major Hazard Facility legislation and various unique processing and design examples where the HAZOP technique has been successfully applied.
The course has been presented to industry and government around the world for well over 30 years and form the pillars of Australian HAZOP study methodology today.
The course is run in-house only. If requested, the course can run in-house and be customised to meet your demands.
